Have you ever driven past an Urgent Care Center and wondered to yourself: what exactly is that, and when would I go to one? You’re not alone in thinking this. Many people think they only have medical access to their primary physician and nearby hospital Emergency Rooms. They don’t realize there’s a happy medium option, and in many cases, a perfectly suitable one for a lot of illnesses and injuries we consider emergencies.
An Urgent Care Center is a medically equipped facility staffed with medical experts that can treat most emergencies. The difference between Urgent Care and a hospital is that Urgent Care does not contain surgical units and heavy-duty medical requests like blood transfusions and any other requirement demanding intense anesthesia.
The problem is that many families, in the middle of an emergency, are not able to clearly consider if they are better off at an Urgent Care or not – where the waiting line and hospitality are tenfold of an Emergency Room.
We can treat medical problems that may not be serious and life-threatening emergencies, but require care within 24 hours. Some examples of conditions we can immediately and effectively treat include:
· Accidents and falls
· Sprains and broken bones
· Back problems
· Flu and Common Colds
· Breathing difficulties
· Abdominal pain
· Bleeding and cuts
· High fever
· Severe sore throat
· Diarrhea
· Moderate asthma
· Urinary Tract Infections
This is by no means the extent of our capabilities – we can treat a variety of sicknesses, discomforts, falls, sprains, and other types of limiting injuries that can keep people from going back to work. The difference is that with us, there’s no 10-hour wait period to see the nurse. Our doctors, nurses, and on-call staff get patients in and out in the blink of an eye. It’s a more enjoyable and convenient experience for everyone involved.
